Reiki, (prounounced ray-key) a technique for stress reduction and relaxation allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" improve health and enhance the quality of life. The word Reiki means spiritually guided life force energy, and is a technique for transmitting this energy to yourself and others through the hands. Thought to have originated in Tibet thousands of years ago, Reiki was rediscovered by a Japanese Buddhist monk in the nineteenth century. An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master. It's use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

Sahasrara/ The Crown Chakra is on the top of the head. It influences cosmic consciousness and transformation. Its organ is the pineal gland. The chant is “MMMM”
Ajna/ The Forehead Chakra just above the eyebrows is often called the third eye. It influences perception of one's own path. Its organs are ears, nose, eyes and pituitary gland. The chant is “Om”
Vishuddha/The Throat Chakra is located just above the clavicle. It influences self-expression, individuality and communication. Its organs are in the neck, plus lungs and thyroid gland. It effects equilibrium between physical and mental growth. The chant is “Ham”
Anahata/ The Heart Chakra is located between the breasts. It influences love and unity. Its organs are heart, parts of the pancreas and the thymus gland. It effects detoxification processes and musculature's state of relaxation. The chant is “Yam”
Manipura/ The Solar Plexus Chakra is located just above the belly button. It influences power, domination, fear, karma and separation. Its organs include the digestive system, liver, solar plexus, nervous system and joints. It relates to the musculature's state of tension, energy metabolism and detoxification through elimination. The chant is “Ram”
The Sacral Chakra is an earth chakra located just below the belly button. It influences joy in life, closeness, relationships and desire. Its organs are urogenital, kidneys, skin, arms and everything fluid in the body. The chant is “Bam”
Muladhara/The Root Chakra is also an earth chakra and is located at the base of the trunk. It influences grounding, survival, and preservation of the species. Its organs are bones, nails, teeth, adrenal glands, legs and everything solid within the body. The chant is “Lam”
